Obituary for Diane Susan "Annie" Wedl

Diane Susan "Annie" Wedl
DIANE “ANNIE” WEDL age 67 of Jefferson passed away March 7, 2017 at the Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center in Johnson Creek. She was born on November 19, 1949 in Watertown to Wilfred and Leona (Brigowatz) Wedl. Diane graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967, she then attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and earned her BS in Elementary Education in 1971. Diane went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Teaching from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 1979. She was employed at the Johnson Creek Elementary School for 34 years. She served on the State Superintendent’s Task Force on Health Education, and developed Wellness Programs for many Schools, with her health programs being published in 1986.
Annie was also an avid sports fan, especially College Basketball and the Green Bay Packers.
Annie had a fun loving and generous spirit, she showered much attention on all of her nieces and nephews. As the party planner for family and friends she created a million happy memories.
She blessed us with her great sense of humor and her ability to make everyone feel special. Her shopping sprees and bargain hunting were the highlights of many a day. One of Annie's greatest joys was hosting family members at a cottage she would rent every summer in Coloma on Pleasant Lake.
She will be deeply missed by her family; Sisters Bev Probst of Jefferson, Mary Jo Bauer of Jefferson,
Teri (Jim) Sommerfeldt of Lac Du Flambeau, Kitty (Dean) Sukow of Helenville.
Brother Dick (Judy) Wedl of Jefferson. Many special nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and great-great niece and great-great nephews, and many other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and sister Susan, and brother in law Jerry Probst.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 am on March 18, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Coyle officiating, private family burial will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be at the church on Saturday March 18th, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30.
